George Melly

A familiar face with an eclectic knowledge and colourful taste in suits, Melly was something of a Renaissance man. He wrote screenplays for television, Take A Girl Like You (1970) being a particular success, sang with a variety of jazz bands and was a respected arts critic with The Observer.
