As the world’s most famous mime artist Marceau played to packed audiences around the world. His work on screen was less frequent but includes roles in Barbarella (1968), Shanks (1974) and Mel Brooks’ mute comedy Silent Movie (1976) where he was the only character to speak, uttering the word ‘non!’.
