A redoubtable Irish actress, Manahan was lauded for her work on stage in her native country and beyond. British television audiences will recognise her for her work opposite Milo O’Shea in the BBC sitcom Me Mammy (1968-71) and her role as the cook Mrs Cadogan in The Irish RM (1983-85).
