After gaining early experience in movies, Maher worked extensively in the burgeoning medium of television. He was stuntman, occasional body double and some-time actor on The Adventures Of Robin Hood (1955-59), Danger Man (1960-67), The Prisoner (1967-68), The Saint (1962-69) and a great many other iconic programmes of the era.
