As the widow of director Alexander Mackendrick Hilary was well placed to appreciate the legacy of filmmaking talent. And in this capacity she committed time and valuable resources to help build the BAFTA-LA Heritage Archive, a vital record of key figures who helped shape the British film and television industry.
