His career tentatively underway before the war, Lloyd hit his stride with such films as School For Secrets (1946), Vice-Versa (1948) and Anna Karenina (1948). He began a fruitful collaboration with John Huston on Moby Dick (1956), later earning an Oscar nomination for The Man Who Would Be King (1975).
