A British born documentary filmmaker, Leacock championed an unobtrusive shooting style that offered an impartial view of its subject. He was cinematographer on films including Primary (1960), The Chair (1963) and Monterey Pop (1968) and directed (or co-directed) others including Chiefs (1968), 1 PM (1972) and Lulu In Berlin (1984).
