A respected broadcaster, author and campaigning journalist, Kennedy helped establish rigorous standards in British television journalism. Joining ITN in 1956, he later reported for Panorama and Newsnight, wrote a bestseller about a miscarriage of justice, 10 Rillington Place - which was filmed in 1971 - and presented the series Indelible Evidence (1987-90).
