John Carter

An American editor who trained while serving in the Army and began his career with CBS’s documentary unit, Carter went on to edit films including The Heartbreak Kid (1972), Friday (1995) and Barbershop (2002). He became the first African-American to join the American Cinema Editors Society and received a BAFTA nomination for his work on Taking Off (1971).
