Maurice Jarre

13 September 1924 - 29 March 2009

Composer

Closely associated with David Lean, Jarre contributed memorable scores to Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965), Ryan’s Daughter (1970) and A Passage To India (1984). Other credits include The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Witness (1985), Dead Poets Society (1989) – the latter two BAFTA winners – and Ghost (1990).
