Griffith's acting career spanned 50 years and included A Night to Remember (1958), The Wild Geese (1978) and Who Dares Wins (1982). Several of his documentaries covered controversial subject matter, including the first Boer War, the British throne, and most notably Michael Collins, in Hang Up Your Brightest Colours (1973).
