David Glencross

A former producer at the BBC, Glencross became an influential figure for ITV when he joined its regulator the Independent Broadcasting Authority as deputy-director of television in 1968. After the Independent Television Commission came into being, following the 1990 Broadcasting Act, he served as chief executive for six more years.
