An influential figure behind the scenes in BBC children’s television, Gill made her name as an assistant producer to Biddy Baxter on Blue Peter between 1963 and 1976. She later devised and produced the fondly remembered Multi Coloured Swap Shop (1976-82) as well as its popular successor Saturday Superstore (1982).
