Fondly remembered as the author of the Flashman novels, Fraser was the obvious choice to script Royal Flash (1975) when a film version was being planned. A lively and amusing writer, his other screenplays include The Three Musketeers (1973), The Four Musketeers (1974), Octopussy (1983) and Red Sonja (1985).
