A Spanish born auteur best known for his horror movies, Franco came to international attention with The Awful Dr Orloff (1962) and built his reputation with an eclectic selection of exploitation tales including The Blood of Fu Manchu (1967), 99 Women (1969), Vampyros Lesbos (1971) and Jack The Ripper (1975).
