A stalwart contributor to Coronation Street for many years, Finch also won acclaim for the BAFTA-winning Goodnight Mister Tom (1998). Additionally he contributed episodes to such diverse and popular series as All Creatures Great And Small (1978-89), Juliet Bravo (1980-82), The Bill (1989-90) and Heartbeat (1992-2006), amongst many others.
