A popular singer of Spanish 'copla' ballads, El Fary became a star in the 1970s. Appearances on variety TV shows led to a custom made television series, Menudo es mi Padre (1996-98), and his musical talents were further celebrated in the film Torrente, el Brazo Tonto de la Ley (1998).
