An actress who trained at the Old Vic in the 1940s, Evison found greater success after returning to her native New Zealand, starring in popular series such as Pukemanu (1971). International recognition came with contributions to Australian series such as Prisoner: Cell Block H (1986) and The Flying Doctors (1986-91).
