Under her maiden name, Carole Lynne, Lady Delfont enjoyed a successful career on the London stage in the 1930s and 40s. She starred in films The Ghost Train (1941) opposite Arthur Askey, and Asking For Trouble (1942) with Max Miller and married her husband Bernard – later Lord – Delfont in 1946.
