Writing her best known work at the age of 18, Delaney subsequently won a BAFTA – shared with Tony Richardson – for her adaption A Taste of Honey (1961). She also wrote the screenplays for such films as Charlie Bubbles (1968), Dance With A Stranger (1984) and The Railway Station Man (1992).
