Although best known for his role as reclusive billionaire Willard Whyte in Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Dean had already found success as a country singer with hits including Big Bad John. An occasional guest host of The Tonight Show he also fronted his own series, The Jimmy Dean Show (1963-66).
