Closely associated with composer Burt Bacharach, David provided the lyrics to a string of popular hits. Many were familiar from movies, title tracks including What’s New Pussycat (1965) and Alfie (1966), with Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head providing a musical interlude in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969).
