As the man behind the enormously profitable yet critically derided Porky's (1982) Clark's name was made. But he achieved a satisfying diversity in his career, directing the slasher flick Black Christmas (1974), Sherlock Holmes hunting Jack The Ripper in Murder By Decree (1979) and perennial favourite A Christmas Story (1983).
