With her face adorning a nationwide advertising campaign for Ivory Snow soap powder, Chambers caused a scandal when she simultaneously appeared in the X-rated Behind The Green Door (1972). Her ambition to move into mainstream cinema were never met, with other films including Resurrection of Eve (1973) and Insatiable (1980).
