Following success in the 50s composing for many West End revues, Cass began screenwriting and composing for film in the 60s, including The Young Ones (1961), Summer Holiday (1963) and Wonderful Life (1964). TV credits, as both writer and composer, included the 60s hit variety show This is Tom Jones.
