American animator Benedict began his career at Walt Disney, working on shorts including Blue Rhythm (1931). He is best known for the distinctive style he introduced when designing some of Hanna-Barbera's most loved characters in the late 50s/early 60s, including Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Quick Draw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound.
