A journalist credited with inventing the newspaper TV listings format, Allan's TV broadcasting career began in the 50s during which he was the editor for This Week. After writing and producing the award-winning documentary Freedom Road, Allan created and produced the seminal music show Ready, Steady, Go! in 1962.
