A composer of many popular songs in collaboration with Jerry Ross, Adler also teamed up with his friend to write the Broadway hits The Pajama Gama and Damn Yankees! which were filmed in 1957 and 1958 respectively. The third of his fourth marriages was to English actress Sally Anne Howes.
