YouTube Competition
Since launching our British Academy Television Awards competition on YouTube we’ve had a fantastic response from the YouTube community.
Over 200 YouTube users submitted questions for our reporter to ask on the red carpet and ten people posted creative video responses.
The questions ranged from funny (“If you were born the opposite sex, which actor/actress would you like to have been” ppp659 ) to thoughtful (“If you weren’t in front of the camera, which member of the crew would you be and why?” siempresequal ) to taxing (“If you could get rid of the press/paparazzi, would you, if it meant trading in your fame?” elzyxxx ). misterfishermann wanted James to ask the red carpet fitter how he got the carpet rolled out so smoothly!
The most popular nominees people wanted to ask question to were Ant and Dec, the Top Gear trio, Harry Hill, the cast of Eastenders and the Doctor Who team.
There were a number of questions probing the effect of the credit crunch on the television industry and users also wanted to know whether the stars used YouTube and what they searched for most often.
With the quality and range our reporter James Rhodes had a really tough time choosing his favourite question. In the end, James selected a winner based on which question he would most like to ask and the reaction he thought it might get on the night.
James will be on the red carpet putting his favourite questions to the stars at the Television Awards this Sunday. You’ll be able to view the results on BAFTA’s official YouTube channel later that night ( www.youtube.com/baftaonline ).
Plus, we’ll be posting exclusive backstage interviews with all the winners on the channel and here on the BAFTA website. Presenter Angelica Bell will be grabbing the winners as soon as they come off stage.
