The 2021 GSA BAFTA Student Awards took place on Friday, July 23, online and was hosted by actor Elliot Knight. The ceremony featured the finalists films selected by a panel of industry professionals from BAFTA's membership, as well as the finalists in two new categories - Games and Immersive, who were competing for the first ever BAFTA Student Award for Games and the BAFTA Student Award for Immersive. The films were competing for four top honors - the BAFTA Student Film Award for Animation, the BAFTA Student Film Award for Documentary, the BAFTA Student Film Award for Live Action, and the Special Jury Prize, selected by Kingsley Ben-Adir, Colman Domingo, Aasif Mandvi and Trish Summervile.
