Christine Cant: Make-Up & Hair Masterclass

Posted: 23 Dec 2011

Cant’s career has almost exclusively centred around comedy and her impressive catalogue of work includes the likes of Father Ted, The Mighty Boosh, French and Saunders and Alan Partridge.

She has played an integral part in creating some of our best loved and most cherished comedy characters and was awarded a BAFTA in 1989 for her work on Agatha Christie’s Poirot.

In a special make up and hair masterclass Cant revealed the secrets of her trade and offers her advice to those aspiring to follow in her footsteps, saying: “You have to be quite sensitive. You’ve got to be very very aware of atmospheres and how people are feeling.”

The interview focused on building a career in the TV industry and her more than 30-year career in make up working with celebrity artists. She was joined by her friends and previous ‘victims’ of her make-up chair, Noel Fielding and Jennifer Saunders, made up as the Spirit of Jazz and Joan Collins.
