Absolum

ARC Raiders

Assassin's Creed Shadows

Atomfall

A new survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall picks up a fictional story five years after the Windscale fire in Northern England. As you explore the quarantine zone, you will need to scavenge, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside.

BALL x PIT

Battlefield 6

A co-op climbing game where the slightest mistake can spell your doom. Either solo or as a group of lost nature scouts, your only hope of rescue from a mysterious island is to scale the mountain at its centre. You’ll need to rely on your friends to have any hope of scaling the mountain, which changes every single day.

An urban redevelopment plan is underway in Lumiose City! The goal: to turn it into a place Pokémon and people can truly share. Meet the new best way for gamers to relax and achieve a state of zen. It features a fully-fledged campaign with 38 jobs and an expansion to the universe of Muckingham, explored through a light-touch narrative. The gameplay is still the simple satisfaction of washing away grime and muck players loved but with improved visuals, variety in cleaning, and added refinements.

How it works

This list has been chosen by over 1,700 experienced games industry professionals – all members of BAFTA, the arts charity for film, games and television.

In brief:

  • 255 games were considered by BAFTA members this year.
  • All games were released between 16 November 2024 and 14 November 2025.
  • Each game is now in the running for at least one BAFTA nomination across 17 competitive categories.

BAFTA members will begin voting for the nominations in Best Game and British Game categories in February 2026, with specialist BAFTA juries voting for the others. The nominations will be announced on 12 March 2025.

Following the nominations, BAFTA’s games members will vote for the winners in Best Game and British Game. Juries will vote for the winners in all other categories.

The winners will be announced at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards on 17 April. BAFTA’s annual Awards is one of the biggest events in the international games calendar. It is an event attended by the industry and reaches an audience of millions online.

A note on remakes / remasters of games: remasters of games originally released outside of the eligibility period are not eligible for consideration; full remakes are eligible in craft categories only. See the Games Awards Information page for full rules and guidelines.
