Vanessa Van-Yeboah is a versatile producer and director, who began in live TV and the gallery. She then had experiences in shiny floor entertainment shows, before discovering a passion for factual storytelling.
Vanessa was part of the renaissance of UK television and the birth of rig documentaries, working as a producer on the first seasons of trailblazing Channel 4 series’ One Born Every Minute (2009-2010), 24 Hours in A&E (2010) and 24 Hours in Police Custody (2014). This led her career in two distinct directions: one was mainly single long-form documentaries, such as The Last Pirates: Britain’s Rebel DJs (BBC, 2017) and Mo Gilligan: Black, British & Funny (Channel 4, 2020); the other was reality shows such as Big Brother during its Channel 4 era (2007-2010). In 2023, she was invited back to work on the latter when it relaunched on ITV and has been its resident series editor for three seasons. In the last few years she has also executive produced and series produced for Channel 4, E4, Snap Originals, Paramount and Netflix.
Vanessa feels with the vast experience she has gained she is now ready to own her power and create the time, space and opportunity to develop her career. She wants to use her voice to authentically craft work that explores the stories of the people and subjects that give her world meaning and support other unsung talent in the industry.
