Rebs Fisher-Jackson is awarded the Fulbright-BAFTA Scholarship. Working in a Cornish Pasty shop as a teenager, Rebs spent her shifts dreaming of writing for film and television. During her studies as a first-generation student at Cardiff University, she started to turn this dream into a reality, balancing her English Literature degree with production trainee roles on the sets of interactive movies. Re-training as a script supervisor, Rebs subsequently worked on over twenty-one productions before branching out as a writer/director. To date, she has directed six short films on three continents for the likes of the BBC, BFI, and the International Youth Media Summit.

Named one of the ‘Next Generation of LGBTQ+ Filmmakers in Wales’ by the Iris Prize, Rebs’ career speaks for her commitment to championing improved diversity and accessibility within the film industry, and in the stories that she tells on screen.

Rebs is a BAFTA Connect writer/director currently based in LA.
