Pat Younge is an award-winning journalist and creative leader, with a career spanning more than 30 years working at major broadcasters in the UK and internationally. His experience spans network leadership, television production, commissioning, news, sport and digital, mostly at executive level.
A former chief creative officer of BBC Production (2010-2014), Pat oversaw teams delivering some of the world’s biggest shows in factual, drama and entertainment programming, ranging from Strictly Come Dancing and Top Gear to Luther, Miranda and BBC Natural History programming. Previously, he was president/general manager of US cable network Travel Channel Media, where he led a turnaround in ratings, revenue and reputation and introduced such Emmy-winning shows as Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (2005-2012) and global break-out hit Man v Food (2008-2011). His leadership culminated in the business securing a $1bn valuation in a successful joint venture transaction.
Pat is a former non-executive director at ITV Studios Ltd and remains a consultant to the managing director. He is also a founding member of a venture capital partnership, Impact X Capital, and an investor/director at podcast powerhouse, Unedited. He manages his consultancy services and creative projects through his company, Skin In The Game Studios Ltd. A digital evangelist, Pat’s Hack The Moon project was shortlisted for a Webby award in 2019, while his digital consultancy, WeCreate Associates, helped companies understand the impact and transformational potential of a digital mindset, with clients including Google and AXA Art.
