Alice Rohrwacher: Screenwriters’ Lecture
In conversation with... Stacey Dooley
Nicolas Orozco is from Granada Hills, California and is currently an Exploratory student at California State University Northridge and plans on majoring in Film Production. He said: “My video production class was paired with BAFTA mentors to help pen our thesis film scripts and at the end of their mentorship they suggested signing up for the Vance Byrd mentorship program as a way to continue what we had learned from them as mentors.”
It is Nicolas’ dream to one day become either a Director, an Editor, or a Sound Mixer. Nicolas has always enjoyed the practical side of filmmaking and has found a natural affinity for editing and video software. When he isn’t making movies at school, Nicolas is an avid runner and even broke his school and age rating’s time in the LA Marathon when he was only a freshman in high school.
From a young age, Nicolas has been greatly influenced by the work of Matt Groening, especially as a fan of The Simpson and Futurama. “I was always drawn to their interesting worlds, the wildly different personalities, simultaneously both the heart and bleakness of the situations the main characters found themselves in”, he said.
