Nell Rose is an Iranian artist living in exile in the UK, she is awarded the BAFTA scholarship to support her Costume Design for Performance MA at the University of Arts London.

Her diverse creative background encompasses both fine arts and theatre design with a particular passion for Costume, the roots of which she traces back to her father’s workshop in Iran, where her artistic talents were first encouraged. Recently, she has produced work for Madame Tussauds and Punchdrunk Theatre, and she is a long-term collaborator with Bespoke Milliner and Costume Designer, Lara Jensen Studio.

Nell said:

“The prestigious BAFTA scholarship offers an opportunity for me to express narratives through Costume design. My personal experiences of growing up in Iran fuel my exploration of women’s identity and equality, and the stories of others in similar circumstances particularly resonate and inspire. Funding in support of my pursuit of a Master of Arts degree in Costume Design for Performance will provide me with a platform to further hone my craft, and ultimately, to share those women’s stories.”
