Nathalie’s breakthrough project is the TV miniseries Brian and Maggie.

Nathalie’s engaging cinematography on breakthrough project Brian and Maggie (2025) helped make Channel 4’s two-parter one of the most outstanding miniseries of the year. Nathalie’s flair for visual storytelling, which she defines as “gut instinct”, can perhaps be traced back to two childhood loves. She was an avid reader, recreating each story as vivid visuals in her mind; and she was fascinated by portrait photography, captivated by its lighting and framing.

Nathalie admits she lost her way a little in her teens, feeling out of place and out of sorts as a child from a low socioeconomic background at odds with the experiences of her London public school classmates. Her love for the art of visual storytelling was reignited by an art history degree, her cinematic eye and technical skillset refined and developed with MAs at the London Film School and NFTS. Years of capturing shorts and music promos led to work shooting mainstream TV, including Funny Woman (2022), Dreaming Whilst Black (2023), and Queenie (2024). She recently wrapped on new ITV drama Adultery and is all set to shoot her first feature, The Spoils, based on a Henry James novel.

In their own words…

“A lot of things happened this year that makes it feel like a breakthrough. I was working constantly. I originated a pilot. I’ve originated a series I’m on now… BAFTA Breakthrough proves to me I’m on the right track. When it’s just you, you move the goalposts. There’s always something to make you think you haven’t achieved ‘the thing’ yet. So, getting this is external proof that I’m doing OK.”
