Maria’s breakthrough credit is the feature film All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt
Maria Altamirano is a producer with roots in Lima, Peru and Downey, CA. She fell in love with storytelling at a young age, watching movies with her family that transported her to new worlds and made her feel a deep sense of connection to other people. As a producer, she aims to create a similar experience for others and is passionate about bold stories that explore the complexity of the human experience, across any genre or format.
Maria produced All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt in partnership with PASTEL & A24. A debut feature for writer/director Raven Jackson, the film is a decades-spanning exploration of a woman’s life in Mississippi and an ode to the generations of people, places, and ineffable moments that shape us. It premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and went on to play at the New York Film Festival, San Sebastián International Film Festival, among others. Maria’s other credits include Jackson’s award-winning short Nettles (Criterion Channel) and Alexis Gambis’ Son of Monarchs (HBO), winner of the Sloan Feature Film Prize at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. She was also a co-producer on Season 2 of HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series Los Espookys.
