The 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises: Portraits
Laura Wiggett, from the Wirral, has been awarded the BAFTA Reuben Scholarship to support her MFA in Editing at the National Film and Television School. An early love of storytelling through film and TV led Laura to develop a fascination with editing and its power to shape and enhance narrative. While studying for her BA (Hons) in Film and Television at the University of Edinburgh, she decided to pursue a career in editing. It was there that she also honed her passion for editing comedy and comedy dramas, culminating in her graduation film winning Best Comedy Drama at the RTS Scotland Student Television Awards.
In 2022, Laura graduated with a First Class degree and went on to work as a freelance editor, editing film documentaries and video essays for companies such as Arrow Films, Eureka! Masters of Cinema, and Radiance Films.
Laura began her MFA in Editing at the NFTS in January 2025, eager to further develop her skills. Studying at the NFTS has allowed her to do just that—growing both technically and creatively as an editor. She has also gained valuable experience editing comedies, having collaborated on multiple comedy graduation films during her first year.
