Janet Chute is an accomplished and creative senior producer, producer/director (self-shooting) and trained journalist, with extensive experience in developing and producing award-winning and critically acclaimed factual/factual-entertainment series, documentaries, branded content, scripted shorts and studio programmes in the UK, US and internationally.

Having honed her expertise over the past 10-plus years – from recruiting and managing large teams, casting A-listers and budget management to self-shooting, directing and editing (and everything in-between) – Janet says she’s ready to transition to the next stage of her career. She is particularly interested in more producing and directing roles – unscripted, scripted and branded content – where she can develop and learn new skills.

Her most recent credits include producing Dare to Defy, a three-part brand-funded documentary series exploring inclusion in UK sports, for a major streamer. She was also producer and director of a menopause awareness film for The Ideas Studio, creating this film for online and its social assets. She filled the same roles for How to be My Ally (2024), a series of short films providing much-needed tools and insights into being better allies to people with disabilities, available on Channel 4’s YouTube channel.

Janet’s previous credits include producing Channel 4’s The Billion Pound Flower Market (2016); the BBC’s Abortion on Trial (2017) and Discovery’s Body Bizarre (2018-2019). She was also senior development producer for the double BAFTA-nominated and Broadcast Digital Award-winning documentary, Charlie Hebdo: 3 Days that Shook Paris (2015), for More 4.
