Faraz Ayub began his acting career as a child in BBC mini-series In a Land of Plenty (2001). After finishing his education and training at the famous Television Workshop in Nottingham, he landed two key roles: as Fawad in crime drama Silent Witness and DC Deepak Kapoor in Line of Duty (both BBC). Previously, he had appeared in an episode of Spooks (BBC) and Coming Up (Channel 4).

Turning to features, the actor took a leading role in Shan Khan’s provocative feature film debut, Honour, as well as appearing in German drama The Cook (both 2014), based on Martin Suter’s bestselling novel. Faraz went on to land parts in in the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated Bodyguard (BBC/Netflix) and season three of Channel 4 drama Ackley Bridge, as well as the acclaimed crime dramas The Capture (BBC/NBC) and the BAFTA-nominated Giri/Haji (BBC Two/Netflix). Thriller series Suspicion (Apple TV+) followed in 2022, before he landed a major role as Ali Shah in BAFTA Scotland-nominated prison drama Screw (Channel 4), starring in both seasons to date.

In 2023, Faraz played the captivating lead in Moin Hussein’s debut feature film, Sky Pearls, which played at both Venice and the BFI London Film Festivals.
