David Chikwe
David Chikwe is a writer, producer and educator, who is currently under commission with STV, Greenacre Films, A Productions/BBC, Bright Little Labs and Three Wise Entertainment.
David co-founded Three Tables Productions in 2018, which was named as one of PACT’s Future 30 in 2021. As executive producer for Three Tables, David has helped Three Tables win development commissions with S4C, Buzzfeed, ITVX, Fremantle and Impact X, in addition to securing slate funding from the BBC and a first-look deal with eONE. He is currently in funded development with comedian and writer Archie Maddocks for Channel 4, screenwriter Michael Bhim/4th Power Films, Appian Way for Apple TV and screenwriter Naomi Gibney for the BBC.
Prior to this, David was a series producer at Leopardrama where he oversaw the development and production of the BAFTA-nominated CBBC series Eve (2015-2016), co-created with Emma Reeves. David also co-created and script-edited two seasons of BBC’s Missing (2009-2010), and as a freelance script-reader he worked for the BBC, talkbackTHAMES and on Channel 4’s Coming Up (2007). He also produced music promo ‘Do it Again’ for The Ting Tings (2014) and has written episodes for CBBC’s Dumping Ground (2019-2021) and Nickelodeon’s Hunter Street (2021).
Beyond his own work, David is active in the film and television community as a mentor, guest speaker, panellist and jury member. For instance, in 2024, he delivered the inaugural Diverse Writers Development Programme for the NFTS and Left Bank Pictures, a 10-week paid programme for talented up-and-coming writers with a focus on building a more inclusive industry.
