Ashley Neponuceno is from Los Angeles and is studying Health and  Human Sciences at the University of Southern California. Despite currently working towards a medical degree, Ashley believes there is always a way to make time for your interests, which is why it was very important for her to apply to the Vance Byrd Mentorship program as a way for her to pursue her interests in entertainment.

She said: “Being selected as a 2024 recipient for the Vance Byrd Mentorship Program is truly an honor to me. Joining this new community will allow me to meet and connect with other students who share similar interests as me. Overall, I’m mostly thrilled to see what’s in store for me.”

Ashley is still figuring out what her dream career is, what she is certain of is her passion for travelling the world and finding a career that allows her to be adventurous and have time for the things and people she loves.

Ashley is very proud of her Mexican heritage and all her academic achievements which has allowed her to be one of the first people in her family to attend a highly competitive school like the University of Southern California.

One of the people Ashley admires in entertainment is actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez. She has watched his movies since she was a little girl and says they made her childhood one filled with fond memories. “I admire him for not only making my childhood special, but also for being a great person who gives back to the community”, she said.
