Armando Morales is from South Central Los Angeles and is currently a Freshmen at Los Angeles County College. Though he has not yet declared a major, Armando is very passionate about Film and the Arts.

He said: “It means so much to me personally, to be accepted, since I am constantly growing and maturing, being able to be in positions that I envisioned myself being in prior to that month or years ago, being grateful in who I am becoming. It also means so much to my family and those around me since they are able to see me make those dreams a reality and strive for more.”

Armando’s dream is to become a Director for Live Action or Animated films, he likes the idea of having creative control over the finished product he is working on. While in high school, Armando has already created a few animated short films that he is proud of. “[It] would be my biggest passion, to live comfortably and create stories that make others have a sense of belonging”, he said.

Armando looks up to the work of Hideaki Anno, the creator of Neon Genesis. He admires the personal and passionate worldbuilding Anno has done, and that fed in and was extremely impactful to Armando during a low point in his life as he saw himself in those stories.
