Red carpet interview with Tim Burton at the EE Britsh Academy Film Awards in 2013.

DERMOT O'LEARY:  I am with Tim Burton.  Hello, sir.  How are you?

TIM BURTON:  Very good, very good.

Q.        Sorry to see you have an injured wing there.

A.        Oh no, I'm just using this because it looks cool.

Q.        Okay.  This is some sort of sympathy on the red carpet, which is good.  So, listen, Frankenweenie, you must be so excited about that, the fact that there's an idea that you had in 1984, you shot a short film and now it is in fruition and maybe getting an award for it tonight.

A.        Well, we did it here, and it is nice to get recognised, especially all the hard work t

he artists put into it.  I mean, it's like people in a dark room for a couple of years making this.  So, for me, it acknowledges their work, which is very special for me.

Q.        With your kids, is this kind of thing, a premiere with your kids first, and go, "Listen, what do you think?" and if they don't like it --

A.        We are really in trouble, I just don't come home.  So, yeah, you run it by them, and -- you know, they are inspirational, and kind of -- especially since it is about a lot of kids, so you certainly pick up on their behaviour.

Q.        Listen, any rumours on Beetlejuice 2; is that going to happen?

A.        I love the character, you know -- if a good script came up.  But I love the character and I haven't seen Michael in a while, so, you know, I wouldn't say no yet.

Q.        Sure.  Lovely talking to you.
