HUW EDWARDS: Well, we would like to thank the academy for a very special award, and really the focus of the Festival of Remembrance for 2018 was the end of the First World War, and the entire production really was constructed to pay tribute to a truly remarkable generation of people, and that was the consistent focus all along.
A great production team, led by Claire Popplewell and Rosheen Archer. Everyone at the BBC and at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.
So we feel very proud, but we’re very grateful that the Academy has recognised the true heroes who have won the award: that generation of men and women.
