CUBA GOODING JR:  Now, wait a minute.  I am a boy from the hood who flew over and now I am in London on this stage, accepting gold.  It has been an emotional rollercoaster of a year for me.  But I am just the vessel here representing the filmmaking team. I want to first of all thank the BAFTA organisation and could literally kiss every person in this room. But I just have to stay focussed so I don’t forget anybody.  But the producing team, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson; and obviously the cast, which I am a part of, from John Travolta.  Sarah Paulson, Courtney B Vance, David Schwimmer.  I could be here all day listing the powerhouse of performers we had. The directors, John Singleton, Anthony Hemmingway. The writing team, DV DeVincentis — look, they’re counting down already.

 (Laughter)

But the one true vision that stands out and shows the true excellence is why we are all here, representing this — (kisses award) — is because of one man, and his name is Ryan Murphy.  Ryan Murphy’s vision is what brought us here and I can’t say enough about his attention to detail and his finding of the truth.  It was a tragedy, what happened that day to those two people, and I just hope that we shined a little bit of light on what really happened.  And again, we thank you.

Thank you very much.

(Applause)
