Posted: 15 May 2026

The LEGO Group is excited to announce a year-long partnership with BAFTA’s talent programme, Young BAFTA, underscoring its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation among the next generation.

Young BAFTA is a central part of the arts charity’s year-round talent programming, providing pathways into the screen industries for children and young people across the UK. By developing essential transferable skills, the programme ensures all young people can access the arts to boost mental wellbeing and self-expression. Through national roadshow visits to schools, competitions like Young Game Designers and Young Presenters, and a range of skills-building workshops, Young BAFTA helps nurture creativity and raise career aspirations.

As an official partner of Young BAFTA, the LEGO Group will continue to build on their mission to empower children through play and creativity; offering kids unique opportunities to explore rich and diverse stories. This collaboration kicks off alongside the LEGO® Insiders Club x Aardman short film, “Boop,” a story inspired by kids’ creations using the LEGO Play app’s stop-motion studio tool.

Boop” celebrates themes of friendship, self-identity and creativity. Through the partnership with Young BAFTA, the LEGO Group aim to reflect these themes by nurturing young talent with engaging workshops, mentorship opportunities, and access to industry insights. These initiatives are designed to cultivate the skills and confidence of tomorrow’s storytellers.

Anna Rafferty, SVP of Digital Consumer Engagement at the LEGO Group said: “We are thrilled to bring the LEGO Group and Young BAFTA together, two organisations united by a shared belief in the power of creativity and storytelling. This is an exciting opportunity to spark the next generation of young storytellers, putting creative opportunities, tools and inspiration directly at their fingertips.”

Katie Campbell, Head of Talent Programmes at BAFTA, said: “At Young BAFTA, we aim to show every young person that their unique perspective deserves a place in our industry. We are delighted to join forces with the LEGO Group, who share our belief in this and the transformative power of storytelling. Together, we can provide the creative space needed for children to find their own voices and feel inspired, ensuring the next generation feels equipped and encouraged to express their own creativity.”

By integrating LEGO creativity into community-driven initiatives, the LEGO Group proudly supports Young BAFTA’s dedication to uplifting diverse talent in the UK. This partnership highlights the shared vision of both organisations: to inspire and support the next generation of creators.

The LEGO Group’s social impact initiatives harness the power of play to support millions of children around the world. By making play more accessible and equipping kids with playful tools to navigate life’s challenges and shape a better future, the LEGO Group is committed to helping children thrive.
