BAFTA today unveils this year’s longlists for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards. Round Two of voting kicks off today and will determine the nominations; to be unveiled via global livestream on Tuesday 27 January at 12:00 GMT from BAFTA’s HQ 195 Piccadilly in London. Round Three of voting will determine the winners.
The EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony will be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London and broadcast as-live on BBC One and iPlayer and internationally, as part of an unmissable celebration of British and global film hosted by multi-award-winning actor, writer, producer and TV host, Alan Cumming.
The longlists for all 25 categories including Best Film, Director, Cinematography, Casting, Documentary, Film Not in the English Language, the four performance categories, Children’s & Family Film category, and more, are published here.

The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 will be announced on Tuesday 27 January at 12:00 (GMT), from BAFTA’s HQ at 195 Piccadilly, London and streamed live on @BAFTA YouTube.
The EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony will once again be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in central London, and broadcast on Sunday 22 February on BBC One and iPlayer, as well as a host of further international broadcasters to be announced. VOTING, CHAPTERS AND JURIES
The EE BAFTA Film Awards voting takes place over three rounds: Longlisting, Nominations and Winners, by BAFTA’s 8,300 global voting membership and film industry practitioners.
This is the fifth year in which a Longlisting round has been in place, to showcase more films at an earlier stage in the Awards process. To ensure a level playing field and fair consideration for all titles, regardless of marketing budget, all film voting members are allocated a broad range of 15 selected films to view before voting in Round One.
BAFTA encourages voters to watch as many films as possible at the cinema, and in addition makes all qualifying films available to voting members on BAFTA View, BAFTA’s online viewing platform.
Before voting in their relevant categories in Round Two, voters are required to confirm they have seen the longlisted films.
Categories in Rounds One and Two are voted for by the corresponding Chapters or Juries made up of BAFTA members. Round Three is voted for by the full voting BAFTA membership.
- Chapters are made up of BAFTA members who hold specialist knowledge in the relevant craft. Members are also invited to join opt-in categories.
- Juries are comprised of BAFTA members with varied industry roles and experience and from diverse backgrounds, gender, location and age groups.
Round One voting for all members ran from Friday 5 December 2025 to Monday 5 January 2026.Round Two voting opens today, Friday 9 January until Tuesday 20 January 2026. Round Three voting opens on Wednesday 28 January until Tuesday 17 February 2026, and will determine the Winners, to be announced at the EE BAFTA Films Awards on Sunday 22 February.
The EE Rising Star Award is the only award voted for by the public. 2026 will mark the 21st anniversary of the EE Rising Star Award. EE will unveil the nominees on Wednesday, 14 January 2026 and the winner will be announced at the ceremony.
